When Our Kids Graduate Prepared, They Achieve Greatness

As Arizonans, we want our state to be a great place to live, work and raise a family. A strong education system doesn’t just benefit students, it improves the quality of life for everyone.

The world is changing rapidly every day. The jobs our children will have may not even exist today. To strengthen the economy and prepare for the future, we need to give all children an education that helps them become critical thinkers, problem solvers and life-long learners, from their earliest years through their first jobs and beyond.

A world-class education gives every child in Arizona the tools to succeed in school and in life, regardless of background, income or zip code. The path to excellence requires students who are motivated and ready to learn, involved parents, trained and committed educators, informed and engaged voters, and capable and supportive elected officials. In other words, it takes all of us.

Advocacy Priorities
Expect More Arizona fosters a shared voice and collaborative action among partners statewide to advocate for all Arizona students to have the opportunity to succeed, from their early years and throughout life. We’re working with our partners to ensure:

  • Every child’s education is funded from the early years up to career to produce excellence

  • Every child has access to a great teacher and principal

  • Every child has access to high-quality early learning opportunities to support kindergarten readiness and literacy development

  • Every 3rd grader is proficient in reading and math

  • Every child graduates from high school prepared for college and career

  • Every child has the opportunity to attain a college degree, credential or industry certification

Education is the greatest investment we can make.

The numbers spell it out – education in Arizona will become world-class only with some world-class effort from all of us.

We need strong leadership.

Arizona’s students are counting on us. While there are many examples of world-class education all across the state, Arizona’s student outcomes overall fall below the national average in test scores, high school graduation rates and degree attainment. Far too few students successfully attain a postsecondary education at a time when the majority of jobs require one.

Our future depends on it.

Education impacts more than just kids. A stronger education system contributes to our economic growth by increasing individual earnings, tax revenue, and supporting new jobs. It also reduces government costs for health, crime and welfare. For example, each class of Arizona dropouts costs Arizona $7.6B over their lifetimes.

We need to pull together

The goals we’ve set are in reach, but no one can accomplish them alone. Change in education will come from people who care about the future of our students and our state and are committed to taking action in their local community. People like you.

How we're making an impact.

Our work does more than drive awareness – it motivates a whole state to support one mission.
