The Imaginarium at Pinnacle Peak Elementary School – Paradise Valley Unified School District
Scottsdale, AZ | Submitted by Polly Baughman
From its name to the minute you walk in the door, you know the Imaginarium is a unique kind of learning space. And that’s what it was meant to be. A place where students, kindergarten to sixth grade, can take their studies further, deeper and in individualized directions.
When the idea of creating the Imaginarium was first conceived, some thought the concept couldn’t work with students as young as kindergarten. They were pleasantly surprised. School officials attribute that to two factors: a buddy system with older students, and a reverence students have for the special environment.
The environment was one that was created by the entire school community working together. Parents and community partners helped design, paint and equip the space with state-of-the-art technology. The Imaginarium is living up to its name, unleashing the imagination of students and fostering a love of learning.
The Paradise Valley Unified School District is committed to student achievement through the development of 21st century skills, and to supporting educators and education support professionals through innovation, professional growth and continuous improvement.
