by Expect More Arizona

Funds will support continued outreach to parents and educators statewide

PHOENIX (July 22, 2016) – Expect More Arizona has been awarded a $50,000 grant from APS Foundation in support of their statewide education efforts. The nonprofit organization will use the dollars to support their mission of building public will for a world-class education for all Arizona children.

“Arizona’s future is inextricably tied to the quality of our education system,” said Pearl Chang Esau, president and CEO of Expect More Arizona. “To strengthen the economy and prepare for the future, we need to give all children an education that helps them become critical thinkers, problem solvers and life-long learners, from their earliest years through their first jobs and beyond.”

The gift will enable Expect More Arizona to expand efforts to increase parental involvement in their child’s education. Using in-person workshops, informational collateral and strategic district/school partnerships, Expect More Arizona has elevated parent awareness and understanding of key education issues, encouraged their involvement in their child’s school, and served as a catalyst for helping parents create a high expectations culture in their homes.

“We’re able to fulfill our mission thanks to the ongoing support of organizations like the APS Foundation,” added Esau. “We’re grateful for their generosity.”
