The Arizona Center forAfterschool Excellence is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the annual Afterschool Awards of Excellence, recognizing afterschool staff, programs and leaders throughout the state of Arizona for their exemplary work in delivering quality youth development programs in afterschool settings.
Awards will be given in 3 categories:
Outstanding Afterschool Professional
Oustanding Afterschool Program
Jane Romatzke Leadership Award
Each recipient will receive:
A $500 cash award
An iPad 2
Free registration to three AzCASE Trainings in 2013
An engraved trophy
A certificate of recognition from Governor Jan Brewer
Who is eligible for an award?
Afterschool programs, staff, program directors, and school administrators serving Arizona youth in grades K-12 in programs outside of the regular school day are eligible for the Afterschool Awards of Excellence. Candidates may be from nonprofits, public, private or faith-based programs, or any other program that supports children and youth afterschool in your community.
Finalists & Winners
Finalists will be notified in September & winners will be announced at the 2012 Awards of Excellence Luncheon on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in the Ballroom of the Phoenix Convention Center, West Building. Winners will be recognized alongside the 2012 Afterschool Chamption, Greg Stanton, Mayor of Phoenix, who was unanimously selected in recognition of his long history of support for afterschool programming and his bold leadership in running for Mayor on a platform emphasizing the importance of education including quality afterschool programming for Arizona’s youth.
