ASU Modeling Instruction Program

For 15 years, ASU’s Department of Physics has alleviated a chronic shortage of qualified physics teachers through the Modeling Instruction Program, which provides research-validated professional development each summer for teachers of physical sciences, grades 8 – 12. As the only program of its kind in the state, we help maintain physics education in high schools, improve its quality, and increase enrollment. Unfortunately, our federal funding ended, with no hope of renewal. Most teachers cannot afford ASU tuition for the intense three-week Modeling Workshop courses.
